Why does Nutrient use dairy/milk in its foods?

The body needs amino acids, 12 of which are deemed to be essential, and the body cannot produce them itself. These amino acids must come from food. All dairy proteins (e.g., milk protein, whey protein) and soy protein have all the 12 essential amino acids, making it the best type of protein for the body. Proteins that don’t contain all 12 amino acids are of lesser quality (e.g., wheat, rice, hemp, and almonds).

    Why do we need protein?

Proteins are made up of long chains of chemical units called amino acids. The only reason to eat protein is to break down these chains to release the single amino acids to make new protein for the body and support crucial body functions such as building muscle, making blood cells and hormones, and organ tissue regeneration.

Our products only contain high quality protein that have all 12 essential amino acids.

What types of protein does Nutrient use in its foods?

Nutrient uses only high-quality proteins: whey, milk, soy, and raw amino acids. Proteins are made up of long chains of chemical units called amino acids. 12 essential amino acids have been identified as essential, meaning that the body cannot make them and they must come from food. High-quality proteins contain all essential amino acids.

    Are Nutrient foods all natural?

We use quality ingredients, and the only things that we add to our foods are nutrients. There is no real meaning of the term “all natural” — it is just a clever marketing ploy.

    Are Nutrient foods certified organic?

We believe that what’s on the inside of foods — the nutrient value — is what matters most, rather than how something is farmed. A comprehensive study from Stanford University concluded that the nutritional benefits of organic and non-organic foods are virtually indistinguishable. We could use only organic raw materials, but our foods would be significantly more expensive, and part of our mission is to get people an easy, simple, and affordable way to get their nutrients.

    Does Nutrient promote farm-to-table/home-cooking?

Yes, Nutrient is not trying to replace home cooking or the use of fresh and locally grown produce. Our main goal is try to get people to reduce their intake of processed foods, which is 75% of today’s diet. We love locally grown foods, however, we understand shopping this way is not realistic for many people. However, it is expensive, time consuming, and still does not deliver the required nutrients.
