"One factor evidently important for neuronal health and function is the optimal supply of nutrients necessary for maintaining normal functioning of the brain."
-Nohajeri MH. Nutrition 31 (2015)261-275

Our bodies are made of 37 trillion cells that require specific amino acids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, water, carbohydrates and oxygen to function properly and remain healthy.

According to the World Health Organization and the FDA, our bodies need 43 essential nutrients daily — the right ones, the right amount and the right balance. They are called essential because our bodies cannot produce them; we must get them from the foods we eat. Nutrients are the chemicals compounds that nourish our cells.

In simple terms they are proteins, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and fiber. In scientific terms they are:

  • 12 essential amino acids
  • 14 essential vitamins
  • 14 essential minerals
  • 2 health fats — omega 3 and omega 6
  • water

Many additional nutrients help our bodies and minds stay healthy and function at their very best — that’s why there are dozens more nutrients in our healthy breakfast foods, Everything Shakes and Brain Shakes.
